Lego Masters Is Falling Apart and This Episode Proves It

If you’re a fan of Lego Masters, this one’s going to hurt.

The hit reality show has always been about imagination, creativity, and jaw-dropping builds. But something has gone wrong in Season 5 of the U.S. version—and one episode, in particular, might be the worst in the show’s entire run.

We break down why Season 5, Episode 5 completely missed the mark—and why fans are seriously worried about the direction the show is headed.

🚨 Why This Episode Was a Creative Disaster

Let’s start with the premise. The challenge was supposed to be a “revolutionary” head-to-head steampunk-themed battle. Each team was assigned a mechanical movement—like push, swing, spin, or twist—and told to “celebrate” that movement in their build.

If you actually watch the show you know why this gimmick is worthless:

  • No extra stakes. Head-to-head matchups were hyped as intense, but nothing changed in terms of the competition format. Worst team goes home, best team gets nothing.

  • Confusing creative brief. Is it a steampunk challenge? A motion challenge? A vibes-only challenge?

  • Seven hours of build time. That’s barely enough to make a clean modular section, let alone a full moving steampunk set piece.

😴 Will Arnett Is Checked Out—and Nick Cannon Is Next

Will Arnett used to be one of the best parts of Lego Masters. Now, he seems completely disengaged, and it’s hard to blame him with how chaotic the show has become. The upcoming season will be hosted by Nick Cannon, and that announcement has fans… let’s say… worried.

This episode feels like a sign of what’s to come: forced gimmicks, bad production choices, and challenges that discourage good design.
